Let Go and Begin Again
Stress, Trauma, the Nervous System + Inner Divinity
Understand yoga’s compassionate, science-back perception behind how the body and mind are shaped based on our past experiences as well as our ancestral roots. Release body shame and self-judgment and learn how to love, accept and forgive yourself and what your healing has to do with deepening your inner connection to the God of your own understanding.
Releasing the Old:
Learn somatic practices for gently addressing built up stress and tension so that you can start over and create a loving relationship with yourself and your body. In this module you’ll understand the research behind saucha (emotional cleansing) and how to integrate regular, easy to use techniques for cleansing the mind and body while co-creating daily habits of care and renewal for yourself.
Writing a New Story:
Set sacred intentions for how you want to feel in your unique body and begin to write a love story with her as well as listen to her inner desires to heal and evolve into a new way of being. As we leave the past behind, we’ll set intentions for where we want to go next. This session supports you in getting clear on your desires and intentions for our work together during this course.
MODULE TWO:
Understanding Ourselves
Discover the Ancient Healing System of Ayurveda:
Understand Ayurveda’s natural approach to understanding our bodies as well as our energetic make-up. Learn how nature’s intelligence is naturally at work in your mind / body system and deepen your respect for your body’s unique survival patterns. This session includes an in depth understanding of how we can use nature and self-care for healing purposes.
Loving Your Unique Body:
Understand your body’s unique elemental make-up and learn the principles of Ayurveda as a healing science. Come into a reverent, respectful relationship with your unique body and learn all of the interesting parts of your Soul’s Divine Design. This session includes a one-on-one session with Heather Burkart, Ayurvedic Practitioner that will support you in understanding your unique make-up.
What are you Hungry For?:
Learn the Ayurvedic science around the senses, hunger, cravings, and how the body intuitively shows us what she needs via her cravings. Release self judgment around the variety of things you “hunger” for and learn to listen to (rather than fight against) your inner longings. This session includes an in depth look at cravings and addictive habits.
MODULE THREE:
Self-Care as a Spiritual Practice
Pleasure as a Regular Practice:
Understand the biology behind five sensory soothing and your nervous system’s need for making pleasure a regular practice. Begin to integrate daily routines (dinacharya) that help your body to regularly feel soothed and supported. This session will support you in putting regular, healing self care practices into practice.
Movement as Medicine:
Discover the healing power of movement and the science behind movement + mental / emotional wellbeing. Find movement practices that work well for your unique body and support you in feeling good from the inside out. Breaking out of the fitness mentality and into regular intuitive movement. This session will support you in making authentic, aligned movement a regular practice for you.
Eating to Elevate:
In this week we discuss all things related to food without harmful restrictive thinking; learn how to cultivate Ayurvedic eating routines that are easy and filled with self-love and deep nourishment. This session will support you in co-creating a diet that feels right for your unique body and helps you to live and eat in harmony with nature’s rhythms.
CLOSING RITUAL:
Envisioning a New Way Forward:
This closing ritual will take all that we've learned and solidify that it is possible to live in a respectful, reverent relationship with your body. Expect song, ceremony, celebration and time to fully digest your experience in this healing closing ritual.
