You’ll know on the inside when you’re sick of trying to force your body.
When you've tried all the tricks – the movement regimens, the diet plans, the restrictions, even the yogic diets – and your body just won’t effing have it.
She’s too smart, too wild, and too tired to be pushed and pulled like that any more.
All she wants is your love, your care, your willingness to sit with her for a minute and to listen rather than to talk.
You probably realize you’re done trying to change her when it becomes apparent that the things you cared about at 20, like having a six pack and making other people like you, don’t really matter to you any more.
What you want is rest.
To eat without guilt and to make love with your whole heart.
You want to cry without apology, to sit with a friend at the river for a whole day eating chocolate without an agenda: to just effing BE exactly who and what you are.
Yes, THIS is how you want to spend the rest of your life in your body:
In peace.
In love.
In respect.
You know you’re done with strict structures of any kind because even reading about a new health regime makes you want to barf.
That’s because you’re sick of trying to figure your body out with your head; what you want is to know and feel and experience your body from your heart.
Doing nothing and ignoring your body isn’t working either, though.
She has a way of getting your attention with her constant whispers that come in exhaustion, inability to focus, and via your tight shoulder girdle.
No matter what you do, you just can’t seem to get rid of her, so – what now you ask?
What’s left to do other than to love her?
To learn her language?
To listen to her?
To respect her?
And to let her give you the gift of a lifetime: full, embodied aliveness.
After 30-some years spent trying to manipulate and force my own luscious, round, German body into something she’s not, the only thing that has actually worked to bring her into balance is love.
And it’s time now for me to give back all that I’ve learned to others who still struggle.
AND SO… drumroll, please… this April, I’ll be opening my first small group mastermind where I’ll be teaching everything I’ve learned about how to care for my curvy, blessed, imperfect body and support you healing body shame and awakening a courage and confidence that comes from owning – and loving – who you are..
Although this is not another diet and fitness program clothed in fancy yoga words,
you WILL learn how to live a life of care and concern for your body’s needs based in ahimsa (non-violence).
Our time together will include teachings from the yoga tradition, embodied practices for learning how to tend to the body animal, and a total reconstruction of all the effed up stories you learned about what it means to be “healthy” and “fit” and “lovable.”
Together, we’ll tend to our bodies with love as we free them from constantly living in fight, flight or freeze, and learn how to ENJOY our lives – and our bodies – rather than “perfecting” them.
We will meet virtually (bi-weekly) starting late April and we’ll discuss different topics such as
seeing ourselves as sacred,
respecting our unique bodies,
healing the harsh voices within,
understanding our body’s cravings,
taking time to make pleasure a daily practice,
moving in ways that feel good, and
eating in ways that elevate us.
This is a revolutionary way to change the old patterns of self-hatred we adopted to survive in a masculine world
and to fully inhabit our bodies with love.
This glorious adventure is the culmination of my life’s work and is based in the science-backed practices of yoga therapy as well as the great spiritual traditions from all over the world.
I can’t wait to dive deep together with some of you!
P.S. I’m ALSO thrilled to share that this September Jamie and I will be leading a 5 Day Befriend your Body Retreat in Costa Rica this September! Info and applications are on their way soon.
What Other Students Are Saying...
The work I have done with Erin is bringing me home. Erin is absolutely the best “therapist” I’ve ever had and I have had too many to count. I love that Erin normalizes my symptoms rather than seeing me as a defective person. It’s clear she’s had some amazing teachers. I can’t thank her enough for her knowledge and wisdom. It’s especially meaningful that she is willing to tell her story and show her own vulnerabilities, too. - Sherri
Erin is knowledgeable, intuitive and empathetic. In addition to feeling seen and heard, I feel like she gets to the core of what's going on with my emotions and in my body. The daily practices she prescribes are specific and highly beneficial yet easy to follow. I've already experienced a level of transformation in just a few visits...which makes me want to continue. I've been to therapy and worked with a spiritual director and find that yoga therapy both compliments and adds a new dimension to my healing and growth. - Bridget
Erin’s work has been an important stepping stone in my transition from a place of discontentment and searching to peace and connection – something I had been missing in my life. The yoga philosophy and practices have helped me feel connected to myself while also being a part of something bigger which is a feeling I once intuitively knew, but lost along the way. I am so very grateful to Erin and her open heart - she provides a space for vulnerability, compassion and healing. - Maya
Erin has taught me so many things, but most of all I love how she teaches from her personal experiences, challenges and growth. In addition to the powerful practices, meditations, movement, songs/chants, Erin’s teachings are practical and relatable. Erin teaches me that I am enough! That I have everything I need, right here in my being. That I can nourish myself with care and love. I’m so grateful that she has given me the tools to do this!!! - Laurie
Erin is unlike any yoga teacher I've ever learned from. She teaches directly to yoga tradition and philosophy and helps me feel deeply connected to my purpose on the mat. She has given me lasting tools and resources to take home and incorporate into everyday life. Erin is engaging, fun, and makes all of the teachings of yoga so accessible and easy to understand. She is so well prepared in her classes I always know I'm going to get a ton of value for my time and investment in her workshops, retreats, and weekly offerings. It's always an easy yes to learning with Erin! - Stephanie
