Yoga for Summer Balancing: July
Summer is a fiery time of year when we are extremely active -- rushing from BBQ, to birthday party, to Brewer Game. While exciting, this "over-heating" of the body, mind and spirit, can lead to imbalance, stress, and dis-ease. Each of these practices in July will use the system of Ayurveda (the yogic framework for a healthy lifestyle) to balance the summer heat with gentle, centering, and cooling yoga practices. Students will leave feeling cool, content, and calm, their minds clear and their emotions at rest, readying them up to be more present at whatever celebratory activities await them off of the mat. :) Tuesdays at the Greendale Community Church and Sundays at Haleybird Yoga Studios during July.
The Yoga of Jesus: August
As our world gets smaller, many believers find that the blending of Eastern and Western religious philosophies opens them up to a whole new understanding of God and Divinity. Join Erin Alexander for these practices in August that will focus on different teachings of Jesus each week and connect them to embodied yoga practices through the movement of the breath, the body and the hands. Students will spend quiet time centered around Jesus's teachings and leave with an embodied understanding His word. Tuesdays at the Greendale Community Church and Sundays at Haleybird Yoga Studios during August.
